Hydrant Flushing May Lead To Discolored Water In Northern Westchester Some Northern Westchester residents may soon experience discolored water as officials begin a semi-annual hydrant-flushing program. The Village of Croton-on-Hudson Water Department announced that beginning on Monday, Sept. 16, crews will be flushing hydrants between 8 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on weekdays. Temporary Water Shutdown, Road Closure Announced In Croton-On-Hudson Water service will be disrupted and roads closed in Croton-on-Hudson as crews conduct hydrant work in the village. Elected officials in Croton-on-Hudson issued an alert warning that beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, water will be turned off in the vicinity of Maple Street, and later on Old Post Road South at approximately 9 p.m.  Officials said that residents who will be affected have been notified of the shutdown. During the hydrant work, Maple Street will be closed westbound between Grand Street and Old Post Road South. Eastbound traffic is not expected to be impacted.
