Retired Police Officer Who Served In Northern Westchester For Decades Dies A police department in Northern Westchester is mourning the loss of a retired officer who served communities in the Hudson Valley for decades.  The Peekskill Police Department announced the death of retired officer John Lynch on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in a post on social media.  According to the department, Lynch served with both the Beacon and Peekskill Police Departments for almost 25 years between the 1960s and 1980s. Most of this time was spent in Peekskill, the department added.  After his retirement, Lynch moved to Arizona, where he had been at the time of his death. …

Suspects Who Stole Catalytic Converters From Hudson Valley Train Station Caught, Police Say A duo who stole catalytic converters from a train station in the Hudson Valley have been caught, police said.  On Thursday afternoon, Dec. 15, police in Putnam County received two reports from people who had their catalytic converters stolen at the Garrison Train Station, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.  After an investigation, two suspects were identified and taken into custody by the Beacon Police Department, according to authorities.  The suspects, whose identities have not yet been released, are also responsible for thefts outside of Putnam County, polic…

Man, Woman Charged In Connection With Home Burglary A man and woman have been arrested and charged in connection with a home burglary in the area. Troopers responded to Bower Road in the town of Pleasant Valley for a report of a burglary on Tuesday, Jan. 29.  An investigation found 21-year-old Christian Rivera of Wappinger illegally entered a residence and stole multiple items including an LG television, Xbox console, Amazon Fire tablet, a watch, and a gold necklace, state police said.
