Social Media Helps Officers Find New Canaan Baskin-Robbins Purse Snatcher, Police Say Social media helped police identify a woman who allegedly stole a purse with cash from Baskin-Robbins in New Canaan. The alleged theft, which was caught on surveillance camera, occurred on Friday, July 5 in the afternoon hours while the victim was at the shop and left her pocketbook inside the ice cream store, according to New Canaan Police. The alleged victim went to police to make a complaint on Saturday, July 6 at 12:30 a.m., said police. Know Her? Woman Accused Of Stealing Purse At Baskin-Robbins In New Canaan A woman caught on surveillance camera is accused of stealing someone's purse in New Canaan. The alleged victim was at  Baskin-Robbins on Friday, July 5 and forgot her purse on the chair, according to New Canaan Police. The woman wearing a green and yellow shirt allegedly took the purse between 3:30 and 5 p.m. and put it in her bag after looking around for a camera, said police. Anyone who can help identify the alleged thief should call New Canaan police officer Ochs at 203-594-3502.
