School District Taps New Superintendent In Westchester: 'I Am Very Excited' A school district in Westchester has announced who will succeed its outgoing superintendent after his upcoming retirement.  In an announcement on Monday, April 1, the Ardsley Union Free School District revealed that Matthew Block would take over as superintendent effective on Monday, July 1. Gordon was born to Leo and Fryda Gordon on June 15, 1955, in Schenectady, New York. Dr. Gordon earned his bachelor of science from American University in 1977, and a doctor of medicine (MD) from the Emory School of Medicine in 1981.
