Three Harvey School Rugby Players Named All Stars

KATONAH, N.Y. -- Harvey School rugby players Zack Buckwold, Sharif Koonce and Andre Britton-Tannebaum have been chosen among 21 players from the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area to participate in Saturday's New England Rugby Football Union New England Challenge Cup event in Massachusetts.

The Harvey School club team is based at the Katonah private school and includes players from the Westchester area. The players will be hosted by Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham, Mass.

Buckwald, Koonce and Britton-Tannenbaum were selected after completing a five week training camp with 60 players.

"I'm proud to state that all three Harvey players made in through the training camp, impressed the coaches and were selected," Harvey coach Phil Lazzaro said. "These three men are not only terrific athletes but fine upstanding young men who represent our rugby program and their schools well."

Buckwald is a Harvey senior and two-year captain. He is headed to Kutztown University, where he hopes to play rugby nest year. Britton-Tannenbaum is a graduating senior at Fox Lane High School in Bedford. He will attend Bates University in the fall. Koonce returns to Harvey next fall as senior captain.
