Leatherman's Loop Begins Registration

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. -- Now is the time to register for the 30th annual Running of the Leathermen's Loop that takes place on Sunday, April 24 at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River.

Runners interested in taking part in the annual Leatherman's Loop at the Pound Ridge Reservation need to register beginning this Friday and running through Monday.

Registration, run lottery-style, begins at 12 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8 and runs through midnight Monday, Jan. 11. To register, click here, and then click on the 2007-shirt with a circle and black and white 30 in the center.

The Leatherman's Loop is a 10k trail race held each spring. The event has been held annually at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY since 1987 and is the largest trail race on the East Coast of the United States.

The only way to take part in the race is by registering and the lottery system. Organizers said they promise that (based on lottery history) most people who register will get in so long as they sign up during the four day window.
