Katonah Swim and Dive Team Setting Swim Records

KATONAH, N.Y. -- The record may be deceiving for the Katonah Swim and Dive Team, 0-3, but the season has been an extremely successful. Katonah, which made the step up to Division I in the Northern Westchester Swim Conference, has established 10 team records this season.

Competing against the top teams in Divison I has raised Katonah’s performance level even higher. Michael Baudinet set a new standard in the 18-and-under boys’ 50-meter butterfly, eclipsing the mark set in 2003 by James Batson.  Liam Hackett owns two new records in the 18-and-under 100-meter backstroke and breaststroke. Hacket and Baudinet joined Greg Markert and Matt Dunworth to post a new mark in the 15-and-under freestyle relay. Sam Sweeney broke the 12-and-under 50-meter butterfly mark early, then took down his own record.

Kaz Sampson joins Hackett with a pair of new marks. Sampson now owns the top times in the 12-and-under 50 breaststroke and freestyle. Kerry Kelly now has the best time in the 12-and-under 50 butterfly and Elodie Nix is first in 13-and-under diving.
