CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – Over 100 John Jay High School students have earned 2011 AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional scores on the Advanced Placement Exams. The College Board presents these awards to students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through AP courses and exams.

Fifty-five John Jay High School students were recognized as AP Scholars, a distinction granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on 3 or more AP exams.

Twenty-eight students were named AP Scholars with Honor, for receiving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on 4 or more of these exams.

Thirty-five students earned the status of AP Scholar with Distinction for receiving average scores of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on 5 or more of these exams. Two students are National AP Scholars, a title presented to students who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
