A crash involving a bus on Route 35 in Northern Westchester resulted in numerous people being taken to a nearby hospital.
The crash happened on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 15 around 3:45 p.m. and involved an Ability Beyond bus, according to Lewisboro Police Chief David Alfano.
According to Alfano, the bus had been heading east towards Connecticut on Route 35 in front of Cameron's Deli. At the time of the crash, two cars had been stopped in front of it. The first had been trying to make a left into the deli.
To avoid hitting these two cars, the bus tried to veer off to the right, where it struck the car in front of it causing minor damage to that vehicle. It then continued and hit a tree head-on, Alfano said.
All eight passengers, all Ability Beyond residents, were taken to a nearby hospital via seven different ambulances for non-life-threatening injuries as a precaution.
No charges or infractions have been filed pending an investigation, Alfano said.
