The council consists of members of the community who serve in an advisory capacity working with Recreation Director Dana Mayclim and the staff of the Parks and Recreation Department. The council tackles a range of community concerns such as the town park smoking ban adopted last year, as well as issues raised by the organizations that run the community’s sports programs, memorials and tributes in the parks.

The council meets about 10 times a year, usually on the last Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in Goldens Bridge at the Parks and Recreation offices.

If you are interested in this volunteer, two-year appointment, send a letter stating why you would like to serve on the council and what you feel you will bring to the council, and attach a resume. All letters should be sent to Town Supervisor Peter Parsons, P.O. Box 500, South Salem, NY 10590, by fax to 914-763-6496 or via email to supervisor@lewisborogov.com.

For more information, call Mayclim at the Lewisboro Parks and Recreation Department at 914-232-6162 or email DMayclim@lewisborogov.com.
