After receiving a series of unsolicited emails from a credit union, the victim explained, he finally telephoned the company and was put through to a senior fraud investigator, who is now conducting an internal investigation. Meanwhile, the victim is providing further information and documentation. Officer Anthony Scarlato advised the victim to monitor his credit reports and watch for any further use of his identity.
The Lewisboro Police also reported the following incidents:
Reckless Driving: Elsewhere in Lewisboro, police received a report of reckless driving on Smith Ridge Road early Saturday evening. Officer Thomas Ritchey interviewed the driver, who appeared to be sober and in control of his facilities. He was a visitor to the area.
Stone Wall Collapses: A portion of a stone wall bordering a Kitchawan Road property collapsed on Saturday and blocked the street. Officer Thomas Ritchey spoke to the property owner, helped him clear the blockage and advised him to repair the wall, which seemed unstable.
Missing iPad: A shopper at DeCicco’s in Cross River inadvertently left his iPad in his shopping cart on March 12. When he reported the loss to the management, he was told that nothing had been turned it. Police were able to trace the iPad to an address in Bedford because it was equipped with a tracking device. Along with Officer John Moylan of the Bedford Police Department, Officer David Alfano interviewed the resident, a DeCicco’s employee, who explained that he had found the iPad and was planning to turn it in to the management the following day.
Property Damage: Officer David Alfano responded March 12 to a West Road landlord’s complaint of a tenant’s damage to property. Alfano accompanied the landlord through the premises and photographed the damage.
Post Office Vandalism: Employees of the Vista Post Office arrived at work Saturday morning to find a Stop sign and a table perched atop one of the postal trucks. Officer Michael Martell discovered that the Stop sign had been pulled from the ground near Oakridge Drive and the table belonged to the nearby Word of Mouth Deli. There was no damage to the vehicle, but a report of the vandalism will be kept on file by the Postmaster.
