An investigation by the police determined that the remains, found in Amenia, belonged to an adult white male 5' 1/2" in height with possibly dark or graying hair and a 40 to 42 inch waist. He is possibly of South American descent.

Articles of clothing found at the scene include a plaid extra-large long sleeve Arrow big oxford shirt, tan Perry Ellis Portfolio pants, black leather belt and brown Giorgio Brutini leather shoes.

The investigation determined that he was in the woods at least 9 months prior to being found in May 2002. He also had gold-shell bridge dental work.

Anyone with information that could help identify the subject is asked to call the State Police at 845-877-3660 or 845-677-7300.
