Officer David Alfano notified the New York State Police and requested that the Bureau of Criminal Investigation take over the case.
The Lewisboro Police also reported the following incidents:
- A resident of Sabbathday Hill Road in South Salem reported Saturday that her mailbox had been unscrewed and tossed onto a neighbor’s lawn. No damage was done, and the resident was able to reinstall it. On Fairmont Road, a Goldens Bridge resident reported a mailbox knocked over Monday.
- The custodian at Increase Miller Elementary School reported that a car had damaged the school lawn by driving over the grass in multiple locations March 19. A similar incident occurred at Fox Valley Park in Goldens Bridge, where a vehicle had torn up the baseball field. An inspection of the tire tracks showed they matched the vehicle used at Increase Miller School.
- Due to slippery road conditions caused by a snowstorm, a driver slid off Cross Pond Road in Pound Ridge on March 18. The vehicle hit a utility pole, but it was not damaged. The next day a vehicle was found abandoned on Route 35 in Cross River, with snow plowed all around it. A check showed that the driver was a Queens resident, who was advised to come and move it.
- A power line came down Wednesday afternoon on Elmwood Road, creating sparks and burning in the road. Police blocked traffic so that NYSEG could make repairs. Officer David Alfano remained on the scene until the Lewisboro Highway Department arrived to attend to road damage caused by the burning wires.
- Officer Michael Martell noticed a driver on Waccabuc Road talking on his cellphone Saturday. When the officer stopped the car, the driver identified himself with an non-American identity card, did not have a driver’s license and had two outstanding summonses against him, both related to driving issues. The driver was processed at Lewisboro Police Station and released on $250 bail. The car’s owner was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for permitting unlicensed operation.
- Lewsiboro and state police were called to a home on Twin Lakes Road on March 19 to investigate a physical father-daughter altercation. Both people were checked on the scene by Lewisboro VAC, and both refused medical attention.
