Vista Fire Dept. Responds to Three Calls This Week

VISTA, N.Y. – The Vista Fire Department responded to three calls this past week, including a mutual aid request from the New Canaan Fire Department for a structure fire.

The fire log for the week of Jan. 9-15 follows:

JAN. 10

At 6:59 a.m., the department received a report of an automatic alarm activation at a residence on Beaver Pond Lane. The alarm was reset by the homeowner when the compant arrived.

JAN. 14

The department received a report of smoke inside a residence on Smithridge Road at 12:19 a.m. When it arrived the department confirmed that smoke was present and found the cause to be a plastic garbage can on fire in the basement. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, removed the can from the residence and vented the residence.

JAN. 15

At 11:38 a.m., the department received a mutual aid request from the New Canaan Fire Department in Connecticut for its tanker to respond to a structure fire on Fawn Lane.  The department took part in a tanker shuttle to provide water to the scene of the fire.
