KATONAH – Two teenage girls from the Lewisboro area were arrested last week for allegedly vandalizing areas of downtown Katonah by spray painting graffiti.

Bedford police arrested a 17-year-old from Waccabuc and an 18-year-old from Goldens Bridge for allegedly spraying graffiti on the exterior of Village Commons East, as well as a commuter parking lot pole in downtown Katonah. An 18-year-old girl from Katonah was also arrested. The names were not released due to possible youthful offender status.

Police are charging the girls with spraying several messages on the building, including “sound is vibration.”

Police were tipped off by a caller who reported seeing a car behind a building on Katonah Avenue after midnight on June 29. Officers later found the girls in the Jay Street commuter lot with spray paint cans in their car.

The girls were charged with two misdemeanors: making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments. They were released without bail and their court appearance is pending.
