S. Salem Student Earns Masters At SUNY

SOUTH SALEM – Cassandra O’Brien-Bates of South Salem earned a Master’s degree in Literacy MSED when she graduated from the State University of New York at Potsdam last month.

The school conferred more than 180 master's degrees in the College's Master's Commencement Ceremony, held at The Crane School of Music. SUNY Potsdam awarded Master of Arts, Master of Music, Master of Science in Education and Master of Teaching degrees in a variety of fields, presenting graduates with academic hoods denoting the honor.

SUNY Potsdam has a strong focus on academics, with its long history in the liberal arts and sciences. Founded in 1816, and located on the outskirts of the Adirondack Park, the State University of New York at Potsdam is one of America's first 50 colleges.

The school enrolls approximately 4,350 undergraduate and graduate students. Home to the world-renowned Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam is known for its handcrafted education, challenging liberal arts and sciences core, excellence in teacher training and leadership in the performing and visual arts.
