Renowned Photographer to Speak at Library Meeting

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The Lewisboro Library will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, Jan. 29 and feature world-renowned photographer and Wolf Conservation Center co-founder J Henry Fair as its special guest speaker.

Fair is best known for his “Industrial Scars” series of photos in which he researched environmental disasters. The photos resemble abstract paintings, which have been compared to works by Georgia O’Keefe and Jackson Pollock. His first book, “The Day After Tomorrow: Images of Our Earth in Crisis,” was released in February 2011. He will discuss the book as part of his presentation.

Fair’s work has been featured in segments on “The TODAY Show,” CNN, The New York Times, National Geographic, Vanity Fair, Harper’s Magazine, Smithsonian Magazine and GQ.

A short business meeting will precede Fair’s presentation in which new trustees for the library board will be elected and a “state of the library” speech given. The meeting and presentation, which are scheduled for 4 p.m., are open to the public.
