Fans of the Bravo reality series, Real Housewives of New York, will have an opportunity to meet one of the shows stars when Ramona Singer appears at the Cross River Wine Merchant for a wine tasting and bottle signing next week.
Singer will appear at the store, located in the Cross River Plaza, on Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
She drinks a lot of Pinot Grigio on the show and she decided to come up with her own, said Mike Novak, the stores owner. She teamed up with the Opichi family. She found her favorite and decided to put her name on it.
Novak said his store does a tremendous amount of volume with the Opichi family, a distributor headquartered in Glen Rock, N.J., and so it was a natural promotional fit for him to host the tasting and bottle signing.
I began carrying [Singers wine] since it first came out in early April, he said. We tried it and we liked it. I believe we will be the first store in Westchester to have her.
Singers wine comes out of Veneto, Italy.
Jill Jones, a Waccabuc resident who co-owns the Healdville, Vermont-based Crowley Cheese, will be on hand to serve her companys cheese for the event.
They are an artisanal cheese company and they make a great cheese, Novak said. We like to show them off. They do a lot of local farmers markets.
Novak said he is excited about the promotion, from which $1 for every bottle of Singers wine sold will go to Outreach ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) of Westchester.
Im expecting 100 people or more to turn out, he said.
