LEWISBORO, N.Y. Lewisboro police investigated an ongoing harassment case last week in which a South Salem family said they are being harassed by a former family acquaintance.
Police were called to a West Road residence, where officers were told that the acquaintance came to the house and demanded to speak with the son to discuss money he says was stolen from him. The father said he tried to reason with the man to no avail. He told police the acquaintance made wild statements and became loud and threatening.
The ongoing case dates back to August 2011, when the family received an e-mail claiming that the son had stolen $100 off the acquaintances dresser. The son denies the accusation. The family received two more e-mails, including one that said a lawsuit would be filed against them over the missing money.
The family requested that Lewisboro police document the incidents for future reference.

Police said they stopped a driver for making an illegal turn from Route 35 onto Ridgefield Avenue. The driver was issued two tickets for disobeying a traffic device and for driving without a license. The car was impounded.
Police were called to John Jay High School for two larceny complaints. One student reported that two days earlier, someone stole $180 from his backpack that had been left in the gym while he was at a wrestling match. The student said he had no suspects and noted that the opposing team also used the same locker room. Another student reported that $300 was taken from his wallet the day before while it was in his unlocked gym locker during first period. There were no witnesses. The money was from a win in a fantasy football pool.
Police investigated a trespassing and harassment call on Grandview Road in South Salem. A resident there told officers that she was being harassed by a neighbor for the past two months. She said the neighbor gets drunk and comes onto her property and curses at her and will come into the home without an invitation. The resident said the neighbor came into her house the night before and would not leave. She said that when she tried to force him out, he bent back her ring finger, causing it to swell. The resident asked police to contact the neighbor and talk to him. If further incidences occur she said she will call 911 and file charges against the neighbor.
A Goldens Bridge homeowner on Harriet Lane called police to issue a larceny complaint. She said she had two iPhones, an iMac computer cord and a Fidelity Brokerage checkbook stolen from the house. She told police that she had hired a housekeeper in November 2011 and it was during this period that these items went missing.

Police were called to a Lower Salem Road residence on a larceny call. Upon arrival, officers were told by the homeowner that on two occasions, an individual came onto his property and removed wood logs, which were intended to be used for firewood. The homeowners told the officer that the alleged thief currently blocked her from leaving on Lower Salem Road. The man told police that he works for the state DOT and thought that wood was on state land and therefore he could have it. The officer corrected him that it was not state land. He pointed out that the wood was well onto the homeowners property and not at the edge of the roadway. In order to avoid charges, the man returned the wood.
