Parsons the Likely Winner in Lewisboro Supervisor Race

LEWISBORO, N.Y. --Democrat Peter Parsons is the apparent winner in the hotly contested Lewisboro Town Supervisor race. With 100 percent of the districts reporting, Parsons was leading Duffy 1,363 to 1,084, according to unofficial Board of Elections results.

Incumbent Supervisor Charles Duffy said the county has impounded several machines that malfunctioned, but admitted that the nearly 300-vote differential he is behind  "is a wide margin." He won't concede until the county vote is official. "I am not ready to declare victory, but I'm optimistic," said Parsons. " I'm looking forward to working with whoever the public puts on the town board. I don't think there was a tipping point in this election, especially when you consider the town board race, which is having mixed results."

Duffy said he  called Parsons Tuesday night and the conversation was cordial. He said he promised they will work "on a smooth transition for the sake of the town if these numbers hold up."
