Massive Fire Leaves Pound Ridge Home Destroyed

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. - Firefighters had their hands full with a large blaze in Pound Ridge Thursday afternoon that left a house in ruins. No one was injured.

The fire was first reported around 4 p.m. at 160 Park View Road. The home was a three story wood frame building. Firefighters mounted an external attack as flames could be seen surging high above the structure.

About 40 firefighters from Pound Ridge and neighboring communities helped get the massive blaze under control around 5:25 p.m.

Neighbors told The Daily Pound Ridge they became aware of the fire after hearing loud popping sounds coming from the house.

Fire officials say no one was home at the time of the blaze, nor were any pets. The cause of the fire, which completely destroyed the home, is under investigation.
