Lewisboro To Pay $475K To Settle Town Pool Dispute

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The Lewisboro Town Board has approved a $475,000 bond to help pay a swimming pool contractor as part of lawsuit settlement.

The town passed a $2,298,000 bond in October 2005 for the renovation of the swimming pool at Town Park on Route 35. That work has long since been completed by Scott Swimming Pools Inc. of Woodbury, Conn., but an undisclosed dispute between the town and the contractor has remained.

Town Supervisor Peter Parsons said that as part of the settlement, town officials are not allowed to disclose any details and have signed a confidentially agreement.

Town Attorney Anthony Mole said that, under to the agreement, the town could release only the following statement:

“The Town of Lewisboro and Scott Swimming Pools Inc. have resolved their dispute concerning the modernization and reconstruction of the Town Park pool prior to the conclusion of the arbitration pursuant to a confidential settlement agreement under which the Town of Lewisboro shall pay Scott Swimming Pools Inc. $475,000 on or before Nov. 1, 2012. There has been no finding of any breach or wrongdoing by either party.”
