LEWISBORO, N.Y. Town Clerk Kathy Cory, who is retiring after more than 45 years of service to the Lewisboro community, will be honored by the Lewisboro Republican Town Committee with a celebratory brunch at Le Château Restaurant on Sunday, March 25, at noon.
Currently completing her 30th year as town clerk, Cory recently remarried and is moving to Litchfield County, Connecticut to join her husband and start her new life as a newlywed. She began her career with Lewisboro in 1965 working part-time as a stenographer. Deputy Clerk Janet Donohue will succeed her.
In addition to her myriad responsibilities in the Town Clerk's office, as a volunteer, Cory has worked with nearly all of the town and school's service organizations. She could be seen at most of the significant community events for decades, often wearing red to reflect her support of the Lions Club.
Cory has received numerous accolades, including recognition for developing the town's award-winning website, and culminating in her 2010 recognition as Clerk of the Year by the New York State Town Clerks Association.
Wayne Coluccini, who recently stepped down as head of the Lewisboro Republican Town Committee where he was a member for more than a decade and became chair in 2009, will also be honored at the event. A long time town resident and Cornell-trained engineer, for many years Coluccini also was active with the school district as a member of numerous advisory committees and with youth sports. His community involvement continues as he remains a fire commissioner in South Salem.
Tickets for the brunch are $65 per person, or $120 per couple, payable in advance, and $70 per person at the door. There is also a cash bar.
