LEWISBORO, N.Y. In separate cases last week, Lewisboro police impounded two vehicles after their drivers were found to be driving without a license.
On Wednesday, March 7, while performing a radar check on Elmwood Road, police stopped a vehicle for traveling 53 mph in a 30 mph zone. The operator was interviewed and told police she had left her license in another pocketbook. A DMV check indicated that the womans Connecticut license had expired in December. She was issued tickets for speeding and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and the car was impounded.
On Friday, police were conducting a radar check on Elmwood Road near Onatru Park when they pulled over a car going 44 mph in a 30 mph zone. The driver produced an expired Vermont drivers license and an expired registration from the state of Vermont. He was issued summonses for speeding, having an expired registration and driving without a license. The car was impounded.

MARCH 6
Police were called to Autumn Ridge in South Salem for an accident that damaged a transformer, knocking out power to several homes. A resident was backing down the driveway of a home and struck the transformer. The driver was not on the scene to be interviewed but left information. There were no injuries. A NYSEG crew repaired the transformer.
Police responded to a call of man suffering chest pains at the Shell station in Cross River. Lewisboro Volunteer Rescue Squad was on the scene. The patients wife told police that they had been driving when her husband told her he was experiencing chest pains. They decided to pull into the Shell station and call an ambulance. The patient was transferred to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.
MARCH 7
Police were called to Sullivan Road in Goldens Bridge for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police spoke to a 16-year-old female who said a white van entered her property and began calling for her to answer the front door. The girls said the van had vanity plates that read HALDEN, but police could not find a plate with those letters on file. Police patrolled the area looking for the van but could not locate it.
MARCH 9
A resident of Brundige Drive in South Salem told police that when he arrived home, he discovered teens on his front lawn. He said that when he confronted them, they attacked him. The homeowner said that when he punched one in the face, the subject fled to a vehicle that had pulled up to the house. The man was not able to give a description of the subjects or the vehicle. Police checked the area but could not find the suspects.
