SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. This years races at the 36th Lewisboro Memorial Day Fair will take on a decidedly poignant bent as 10 percent of all registration fees will go to the Forever Molly & Gregory Fund, which was established in partnership with the Katonah Lewisboro Foundation in memory of Amy, Molly and Gregory Friedlander.
Online registration is now open for all the races the 10K and 5K and the Mile Fun Run.
To register for any of the races simply go online to the South Salem Presbyterian Church website at www.Southsalempc.org, said Deborah Buscema, co-race chair. Click on the Memorial Day Races color logo and follow the onscreen guide.
Registration forms are also available at the church office, the Lewisboro Library and by mail.
Registered runners are invited to raise funds for the Forever Molly and Gregory Fund by inviting support from family, friends and colleagues through a personalized web page. After registering for the race, interested runners can go to the Forever Molly and Gregory Fund page at http://www.firstgiving.com/forevermollyandgregory/south-salem-memorial-day-races where individual pages can be created. Once created, links to the individual pages will be personalized with runners names and the race name.

Dr. Chip Andrus, of the South Salem Presbyterian Church This year we are proud to sponsor the Forever Molly and Gregory Fund, which honors the memory of these precious children and will continue to help other young people by supporting education and sports in Lewisboro."
The fund will support the pursuits closest to Amy, Molly and Gregory's hearts in the areas of academic, athletic and artistic achievement.
Grants will be awarded within the Katonah-Lewisboro community to support programs or purchase equipment, supplies and services that will enrich the lives of Mollys and Gregory's classmates and teammates, said Lisa Cohen, co-founder of the Forever Molly and Gregory Fund Its through this fund that Molly and Gregory will continue to spread their joy, kindness and compassion for others while making an everlasting impact on the lives of those who were touched by them.
Last year the races drew more than 400 runners from three states. The courses are U.S.A. Track and Field certified, which allows the running times to be accepted as a record and nationally ranked. The Challenge Run, in its third year, offers runners a chance to run both the 10K and the 5K. The running time for each race will be posted race day as well as the combined time of both races for the challenge time. While more than 80 youth under the age of 14 participated in the 5K last year, the Mile Fun Run is offered for those youth not ready to attempt the 5K.
The Pee Wee Races, now in their 20th year, is for 2 to 8 year olds to run 25- to 50-yard dashes.
The PeeWee races are especially meaningful this year, Buscema said. As both Molly and Gregory Friedlander ran these races.
