SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. Longtime Lewisboro Town Clerk Kathy Cory was honored by the Lewisboro Republican Committee on Sunday with a celebratory brunch at Le Chateau.
After 30 years as town clerk, Cory is retiring. At Sundays celebration, she symbolically passed the key to the Town House to her replacement, Janet Donohue, who had served as her deputy town clerk.
Cory recently remarried and is moving to Litchfield County, Conn. to join her husband and start her new life as a newlywed. She began her career with Lewisboro in 1965 working part-time as a stenographer.
Wayne Coluccini, who recently stepped down as head of the Lewisboro Republican Town Committee where he was a member for more than a decade and became chair in 2009, was also honored at the event. A long-time town resident and Cornell-trained engineer, Coluccini also was active with the school district as a member of numerous advisory committees and with youth sports. He continues as a fire commissioner in South Salem.
The event was attended by more than 70 people, including Rep. Nan Hayworth (R-Mt. Kisco) state Assembly member Bob Castelli (R-Bedford), County Executive Rob Astorino and Astorinos chief of staff, George Oros. Lewisboro Supervisor Peter Parsons was the guest speaker.
