LEWISBORO, N.Y. – When Lewisboro voters go to the polls Tuesday, they will have the opportunity to vote for two town board members from a slate of four candidates.

While two Democrats and two Republicans are vying for the two seats, it is the top two vote-getters who will be named the winners.

The Republicans have nominated incumbent John Pappalardo and Rhea Mallett. Pappalardo, an attorney with a practice in White Plains, was appointed to the board earlier this year when Bruce Pavlow resigned. Mallett, also an attorney, is a registered Democratic who is running as a Republican. She also has the Independence Party endorsement.

On the Democratic ticket are incumbent Dan Welsh, who also has the Independence Party and Working Families Party nominations, along with challenger Peter Gross, who also has the Working Families Party nomination on his resume. Welsh has a diverse business and technological background and has been known for his activism in environmental causes. Gross is an attorney who has also been involved in management and the startup of media companies, including HBO.

The Daily Lewisboro talked with all four candidates to find out their backgrounds and positions on the challenges facing Lewisboro today.
