JustWorld International, based in Paris, France, is a nonprofit organization that funds basic education, nutrition, health, hygiene and vocational programs for children in impoverished communities in Honduras, Cambodia, Guatemala, and Colombia. The organization works through the international equestrian community and its extensive networks to provide basic needs to children with little opportunity. “I first became aware of JustWorld International by seeing its logo and charity events at horse shows where I compete,” said Keno. “After learning about the type of work they do, I decided to become one of their Junior Ambassadors. As part of my internship with the organization, I decided to design and sell hair ties, because riders frequently use them to put their helmet on, or put their hair up after riding. They also make great bracelets,” she added. Keno reports that sales have been brisk and feedback has been positive from the equestrian community as well as people discovering the organization and its mission.
The JustWorld International hair ties cost $10 for a package of three, with all proceeds going to the charity.
The hair ties are currently available at Beval Saddlery in North Salem and New Canaan, Conn., or by emailing justworldhairties@gmail.com.
