South Salem Resident Joins Board Of Arts For Healing

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – South Salem’s Samantha Zaffiro, a learning and reading specialist, has been named to the Board of Directors of Arts For Healing, a New Canaan-based nonprofit therapy organization.

Zaffiro's private practice devoted to learning disabilities, Academic Intervention and Development, has offices in Bedford.

“The arts can and do have a profound effect on the physical, emotional and intellectual development of people of all abilities,” Zaffiro said of Arts for Healing. “I know of no other organization in our area that is as committed to providing comprehensive and supportive music and arts therapy programs as Arts For Healing."

It offers music therapy, art therapy and dance/movement therapy to children and adults. In addition to its individual clients, Arts For Healing provides services to New Canaan Public Schools, the Waveny Care Center, the New Canaan YMCA and Norwalk Hospital, among others.
