Lewisboro Library To Present Wildflower Lecture

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. – The bucolic landscape of northern Westchester County teems with an endless array of wildflowers.

The Lewisboro Library, in conjunction with the Lewisboro Garden Club, will present a program next week to give flower lovers a chance to learn more about them.

“All About Wildflowers,” is a botanical lecture slated for 7 p.m. Thursday at the library. It will be led by local naturalist, author, and photographer Carol Gracie. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the history of some of their favorite summer and fall wildflowers.

Gracie is renowned natural history speaker and specializes in temperate and tropical flora. She has five newly discovered plant species named for her. Her latest book, “Spring Wildflowers of the Northeast: A Natural History,” was published in March of this year.

The program is open to the public, but registration is required. Call the library at 914-763-3857.
