What To Do In The Lewisboro And Pound Ridge Area This Weekend

As the power slowly returns to northern Westchester, you may be looking to get a little normalcy back in your life. The local libraries in Pound Ridge and Lewsboro are offering an eclectic array of programs this weekend and the Wolf Conservation Center has some interesting events on tap:

Friday, Nov. 9

Fun with Music: 11 a.m. The Pound Ridge Library presents “Fun with Music” featuring Laura D’Amico for children ages 5 and younger. Registration is required. For more information, call the library at (914) 764-5085. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.

“Twilight” Countdown: 7 p.m. The film “Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2” opens Nov. 16. Students in grades 6 and up are invited to come to the Lewisboro Library and talk about the movie series and compete in some Twilight trivia games. Registration is required. Saturday, Nov. 10

Gossett Brothers Farm Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Gossett Brothers Farm Market features fresh produce, meats and cheese, as well as seafood. The market is at 1202 Route 35, at Gossett Brothers Nursery in South Salem.

Second Saturday Review of Literature: 10:30 a.m. The Pound Ridge Library program offers thoughtful reading, lively discussions and light refreshments. This week’s book under discussion is “State of Wonder” by Ann Patchett. Copies are available at the library. Registration is required. Call (914) 764-5085. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge.

Meet the Author Series: 4 to 5 p.m. The Pound Ridge Library’s Meet the Author Series continues with Robin Lamont, author of “Wright for America.” There will be book talk and the author will sign books. No registration required. 271 Westchester Ave., Pound Ridge

Folk Music at the Library: 8 p.m. Local musicians Chip Andrus and Vince Castellucci will perform as part of the Lewisboro Library’s Folk Music Concert Series, offering a mix of acoustic folk, rock and bluegrass. Special guests are The Shovel Ready String Band. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults in advance and $15 at the door. Seniors are $12 at the door and children under 12 are free. Sunday, Nov. 11

Wolf Tails for Kids – Mythology of a Predator: 11a.m. Join the Wolf Conservation Center for its first-ever wolf mythology program. Learn about the relationship between the wolves and humans of the past. Guests will be introduced to various wolf mythologies and then have a chance to create their own and share if desired. Then guests will visit ambassador wolves Atka, Alawa and Zephyr as well as the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Don’t forget a camera.
