Friday, March 8

Caregivers Coffee & Chat: 10:30 a.m. Nannies, au pairs, moms, dads, grandparents and other caregivers are invited to get together for coffee or tea and meet other caregivers. It’s at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.

Downloading eBooks: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn how to download free books onto your iPad using the Westchester Library System’s free download services. It’s at the Lewisboro Library, 15 Main St., South Salem. Call (914) 763-3857 to register.

Elizabeth Butler Blood Drive: 1 to 7 p.m. Give blood to save lives. Contact Joanne Leuschner at (845) 277-7478 or email joannemleu@msn.com for further information. The drive, sponsored by the Elizabeth Butler Memorial Fund, takes place at North Salem High School, 230 June Road, North Salem.

Old World Wine Tasting: 5 to 8 p.m. Discover the excitement of classic European wines at Croton Falls’ Front Street Cellar in the old Croton Falls Train Station, Front Street, Croton Falls (North Salem).

“Dear Governor Cuomo:” 7 to 10 p.m. A showing of this documentary film, focused on the fracking controversy, will be introduced by political leaders Bob Castelli and Peter Harckham and followed by a discussion with the writer/director Jon Bowermaster. Ten Unknowns at the Schoolhouse: 8 p.m. The newly renovated Schoolhouse Theater presents its first show of the new season, “Ten Unknowns” by Jon Robin Baitz. The show will continue with performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. The final performance is March 24. Tickets range from $33 to $35. Inventors’ Club: 10 a.m. Learn about the design process, solve problems creatively and see what inventing is all about. The program, led by Eileen Diehl, is geared to children in grades two to five. PRCC Play School Open House: 10 to 11 a.m. If you are looking for a preschool program for your two-, three, or four-year-old, consider the Pound Ridge Community Church’s Play School. How-To Festival: noon to 3 p.m. Students of North Salem High School will be on hand to demonstrate their unique talents and skills and teach you how they do it. Pinkalicious Tea Party: 1 p.m. There will be stories, activities, crafts and Pinkalicious cupcakes with apple juice for children of all ages to celebrate Pinkalicious. Wear something pink! Daylight Savings Time: 2 a.m. Before you go to bed Saturday, remember to set your clocks ahead by one hour. Time changes from Standard to Daylight at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Walk the Leon Levy Preserve & Ruins: 1 to 3 p.m. Take a guided tour through this handsome watershed property, which includes important local wildlife and vegetation. The Preserve is entered at the intersection of Routes 35 and 123 in South Salem. There is no charge.

Fencing Club Open House: 3 to 5 p.m. The new fencing club, Way of the Sword, hosts its first open house. A second one will be held on March 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. The club in the upstairs studio at Union Hall, 2 Keeler Lane, North Salem.
