Environmental Film Series: “Bag It”: 7 p.m. This is the first in a monthly series of environmental-themed films with discussions at the Lewisboro Library. "Bag It" has been garnering awards at film festivals across the nation. What started as a documentary about plastic bags evolved into a wholesale investigation into plastics and their effect on our waterways, oceans, and even our bodies. The film will be followed by discussion. The event is sponsored by the Lewisboro Sustainability Committee, Lewisboro Library and Energize NY. Registration is required. Hooked Rugs Folk Art Exhibit: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Pound Ridge Library presents “Hooked Rugs by Mary Parker: An American Folk Art Goes Local,” a display of hooked rugs, which runs through Feb. 13 in the library’s art gallery. Winter Wolves: 11 a.m. Join the Wolf Conservation Center to learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families and discover why this season is such a magical time for packs in North America. Guests will visit ambassador wolves Alawa and Zephyr, as well as the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves. Hot beverages are available in the woodstove-heated classroom. Winter Wonderland Wolf Photo Session: 3 p.m. Join the Wolf Conservation Center for an opportunity to photograph its ambassador wolves: Atka, Alawa and Zephyr, in their winter glory in the warm glow of the sunset. Guests will also be given access to photograph the WCC critically endangered Mexican wolves and red wolves from vantage points not generally available during regular visits. Blue Öyster Cult: 8 p.m. The legendary hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse. Known for cult classics such as “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper,” “Godzilla,” and “Burnin’ for You,” the band's science fiction-influenced music has lasted longer than three decades. Tickets are $70.
