Town-Wide Yard Sale Coming to Pound Ridge

POUND RIDGE – What’s better than one yard sale? How about more than 20 held town-wide at the same time?

That’s exactly what will be happening in Pound Ridge when Joan Silbersher’s Antiques & Tools of Business & Kitchen host the 15th annual Town-Wide Yard Sale, July 8-10.

“I got the idea when I read in a trade publication about a ten-mile long tag sale in Texas,” Silbersher said. “I thought that maybe we could do something like that here.”

Silbersher is producing maps that shoppers can use to locate the various yard sales throughout the town. There is no fee for homeowners to sign up to get on the map. So far, residents on Lower Shad Road, Robin Hood, Bob Hill, Benger, Indian Hill, Salem, East Woods and Pound Ridge roads have signed up. Silbersher said she expects more to join in.

There will also be sales at the Pound Ridge Library and Pound Ridge Community Church on those days.

“People can come to my shop to pick up a map,” said Silbersher, who also runs an antique market the second Sunday of every month. “I am also sending out information through the mail to all the residents so they can sign up if they want.”

Pound Ridge’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor senior citizens program will provide a bus on Friday, July 8 to take seniors to the various sales. The bus will leave the Town House at 10 a.m., however seniors must sign up by Monday.

For more information about the Town-Wide Yard Sale call Silbersher at (914) 764-0015 or visit her store at 65 Westchester Avenue in the Pound Ridge business district.
