Things To Do In The Area This Weekend

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? You'll have plenty of choices. There's Harry Potter trivia for the kids and classical music and adult comedy for the grown-ups. Looking for fresh produce? There's Farmers Markets too. Check out the following events: 

FRIDAY, July 28

The Lewisboro Library will present a Harry Potter Trivia Contest to celebrate the release of the final film, “Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows – Part 2.” Celebrate with some “Deathy Hallows” pizza and a trivia contest that will test your knowledge of all seven books. The Ridgefield Theater will present “Fiddler on the Roof Jr.” This special edition of one of Broadway's great masterpieces, Fiddler On The Roof Jr., covers the full range of human emotion and has touched audiences around the world with its humor, warmth and honesty. In the little village of Anatevka,

Tevye, a poor dairy man, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-semitism of czarist Russia. Its' universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness. Performed by students in grades 6 - 8. SATURDAY, July 29

Caramoor’s resident orchestra collaborates with internationally renowned soloists and conductors, bringing symphonic and operatic masterpieces to vibrant life. SUNDAY, July 30

The Ridgefield Playhouse will present comedian Gilbert Gottfried. Most famous for his infectious, albeit obnoxious vocal quality, Gilbert Gottfried has been making audiences laugh for almost 40 years From voicing Iago in the hit Disney movie “Aladdin,” to Digit on the educational show “Cyber Chase” to the voice of Joey I n “Look Who’s Talking Too,” Gilbert Gottfried is considered one of the funniest and most recognizable comedians.
