Part of the road was temporarily closed off, and spectators lined the route.
Aside from South Salem, fire departments also came from Goldens Bridge, Vista, Croton Falls Bedford, Katonah and Pound Ridge in New York and from Ridgefield, Darien, Stamford, Danbury, New Canaan, Rowayton and Redding in Connecticut.
A Lewisboro police car and members of the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps also participated. Musical marchers, including bagpipers, also took part.
Wednesday was also the first scheduled date for the South Salem Fire Department's carnival, which is being held at the firehouse. The carnival is scheduled to run through Saturday, Aug. 9.
