South Salem Church's Labor Day Biathlon Raises $16,000 For Charity

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- St. John’s Episcopal Parish’s annual Church Tavern Biathlon Monday raised $16,000 for three charities, church officials said.

The Labor Day event drew more than 130 competitors and included a 7-mile bike race and a 4-mile run.

Proceeds will benefit The Wounded Warrior Project, which aids injured service members; Carpenter’s Kids, which supports Tanzanian HIV/AIDS orphans; and The Community Center of Northern Westchester, which helps those in need with food, clothing and services.
