HARRISON, N.Y. - An overnight rain storm left Harrison residents with a soggy landscape when they woke up Thursday morning. While the town wasn't hit as hard as bordering communities like Mamaroneck, it was still left with sporadic puddles and floods throughout town.
Though parts of Harrison saw puddles of water on the roads and sidewalks, no significant damage was reported by Harrison police. Members of the Harrison Department of Public Works were servicing a significant flood on Harrison Avenue heading downtown, and alleviated the issue by early afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday's high is expected to be near 47 degrees, with a low of 37, and a 70 percent chance of rain after 1 a.m. A tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain is anticipated.
Rain should continue through 10 a.m. Friday, accompanied by winds blowing southwest between 15 and 25 miles per hour, and gusts as high as 40 miles per hour. High winds are expected to continue through Friday night, which may drop to 29 degrees, and into Saturday, which may hit a high of 39 degrees.
Saturday night may be cloudy with a low near 20. Sunday, the clouds could part for a sunny, but cold day. The high is expected to be 28 degrees, with a low of 14.
