Hudson Valley Woman Sentenced To 15 Years For Starving Boy To Death
A Hudson Valley woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for starving to death a 7-year-old boy in her care.
Orange County resident Leticia Bravo, age 40, of Newburgh, was sentenced on Tuesday, June 21 after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of Peter Cucuas.
In addition to the 15 years, Bravo will also serve five years post-release supervision, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.

A 4-year-old girl who was critically injured during a crash between a car and an SUV that also killed the driver of one of the vehicles has died from her injuries.
Orange County resident Journey Dorch, of the Town of Woodbury, died over the weekend, from injuries sustained during the crash on Saturday, July 17, on Route 32 in the town of Cornwall, said the state police.

Toddler In Critical Condition After Fatal Crash Between Car, SUV With Nine Occupants
A 3-year-old is in critical condition following a crash over the weekend that left a woman dead and at least three others injured.
The crash took place around 8:30 p.m., Saturday, July 17, on Route 32 in Orange County in the town of Cornwall.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Toyota Corolla, driven by Helen Rivera, age 38, of Newburgh, the city of Newburgh was traveling south on the dark, rain-slick roadway when she crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2010 Dodge Journey with nine occupants, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the state police.

Father, Son Killed In Hudson Valley House Fire
A man who pushed his daughter to safety was killed, along with his son, after a house fire broke out overnight in the Hudson Valley.
The blaze began around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, July 5 in Ulster County in the Town of Shawangunk on Burnt Meadow Road.
Initial responders discovered a 9-year-old girl outside the home, who had been pushed out a window to safety by her father, later identified as Joseph J. Hull, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office said.
Hull, 50, then was reported to have remained in the residence to locate his other child, Joseph D. Hull, 7.
