Rear Admiral William G. Kelly, a 1983 graduate from Archbishop Stepinac High School has been named as the 42nd Superintendent of the United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA). Mount Vernon Names New Police Commissioner After National Search Following an extensive, nationwide search, Mount Vernon has a new head of police. Over the weekend, Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas held a ceremony announcing the appointment of Shawn Harris as the city’s new Commissioner of Public Safety, while also announcing the addition of more than a dozen new probationary officers for the department.
