Troopers were out in force on Saturday, Nov. 30, as they conducted a distracted driving detail on the parkway in Hawthorne. In total, during the detail, troopers issued a total of 29 tickets for various vehicle and traffic violations, including five drivers who failed to adhere to the “move over” law. Car Coming Off Taconic Parkway Crashes Into Booth At FDR Park A motorist had to be extricated from a vehicle after crashing into a booth at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights. First responders were dispatched to the park at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, when there were reports of a motor vehicle crash that required the extraction of the driver after he drove through a booth. Officials said that upon arrival, first responders found the driver trapped in the car, alive and conscious, standing inside, but unable to exit on his own.
