A Navy veteran from the Hudson Valley who had a crucial role in a Northern Westchester business is being remembered for his kind heart. Orange County resident Eugene “Gene” Guido of Highland Mills, died peacefully at the age of 57 while surrounded by family members on Friday, Feb. 16, according to his obituary. Born in 1966 in the Bronx, Guido went on to serve in the US Navy and eventually became the director of pre-construction for Armonk-based Touchstone Builders. 14-Year-Old Riding Motorbike Killed In Crash With Plow Truck In Hudson Valley
A 14-year-old boy who was involved in a crash with a plow truck in the Hudson Valley has died from his injuries. The accident occurred in Rockland County around 2:50 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the area of N. Liberty Drive and Wayne Avenue in Stony Point. According to Lt. Greg Becker, the teen was riding a motorbike when he collided with a privately owned plow truck. The victim was treated at the scene by Rockland Paramedics and Stony Point Ambulance Corp, and then transported to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where he died on Wednesday, Feb. 14, Becker said. A police enforcement detail conducted over Super Bowl weekend in the Hudson Valley resulted in several drunk driving arrests, authorities announced. The enforcement detail was conducted in Putnam County by the Carmel Police Department and resulted in a total of four arrests on Saturday, Feb. 10, according to Carmel Police Lt. Michael Bodo. 3 Hospitalized After Car Strikes Pole On Road Near Westchester Border
Three people were taken to a hospital following an early morning crash in the Hudson Valley. The incident happened in Putnam County on Saturday, Feb. 3 just before 4:30 a.m., when a car crashed into a pole on Croton Falls Road in Mahopac near the Westchester border, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. Three people involved in the crash were taken to a hospital to be evaluated, firefighters said. The cause of the crash was not released.

Former Fire Chief Of Hudson Valley Department Dies
A fire department in the Hudson Valley has announced the death of one of its former chiefs. In a social media post on Sunday, Feb. 4, the Brewster Fire Department in Putnam County announced the death of former Chief and Commissioner Thomas Palmer. Palmer led the department from 1996 to 1998, the department said. More information about Palmer's death, including funeral arrangements, has not yet been announced. This is a developing story. A man was critically injured after becoming pinned between a car and a building in the Hudson Valley, firefighters said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, Feb. 2 around 12:30 p.m., when a vehicle that had been put on a mechanical lift suddenly accelerated forward, pinning a man against a building in Carmel, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. A child has died after being struck by a school bus in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County around 5:50 p.m., Monday, Jan. 29 in front of 100 Clinton Ave., in the Village of New Square. According to Lt. Blaine Howell of the Ramapo Police, the 8-year-old child was treated by paramedics on the scene but was pronounced dead. A 20-year-old Hudson Valley woman faces charges after striking a victim inside a vehicle on a busy highway in Northern Westchester, police said. Despite flipping their car onto its side on a busy Hudson Valley road amid snowy conditions, a driver was able to walk away from the crash unharmed, fire officials said.
