NY's First Offshore Wind Farm Marks Major Construction Milestone Efforts to power tens of thousands of New York homes using the state’s first offshore wind farm have marked a major construction milestone. The South Fork Wind farm, located approximately 35 miles off the coast of Long Island, achieved its “steel in the water” milestone with the installation of the project’s first monopile foundation, Gov.
