A New York man is accused of kidnapping his teenage son and taking him across state lines after the boy ran away from a church camp. John Tonchen, 54, of Endicott, was extradited to Sullivan County from Michigan on suspicion of kidnapping and related charges on Wednesday, Feb. 5, according to New York State Police. Troopers began investigating after receiving a report that a 16-year-old boy had run away from Camp Covenanter in White Lake on Sept. 20, 2024. Harrison High School Cheerleading Team Wins National Title: 'Hard To Put Into Words'
A Westchester high school cheerleading team's hard work has paid off with some spectacular results. After a long journey, the members of the Harrison High School Cheerleading Team are now national champions after competing in the Universal Cheerleaders Association's 2024 National High School Championships. The team emerged as the top victors in the Small Varsity Division II Game Day championship along with Union-Endicott High School from Endicott, New York. Westchester Man Killed, Two Injured In I-95 Three-Vehicle Crash
A 25-year-old Westchester man was killed and two others were injured in a serious three-vehicle crash on I-95 in Stamford. The Friday evening crash caused the closure of all the northbound lanes in the area of Exit 6 before the right lane opened, Connecticut State Police said. Tamar Milteer of New Rochelle, a passenger in one of the cars, a Ford Fiesta, was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital.
