Bear Spotted Near Golf Course In Westchester
A curious black bear took in the sights around a golf course in Westchester County before retreating back into the woods, officials reported. In Westchester, police in Yonkers received multiple reports over the weekend regarding a bear - or bears - that were spotted in the Fox Terrace area near the Dunwoodie Golf Course on Wasylenko Lane. Coyote Killed In Westchester Tests Positive For Rabies
The Westchester County Department of Health determined on Saturday that the coyote killed in the area of the Dunwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers earlier this week has tested positive for rabies. This coyote, including a second coyote observed traveling with it, is suspected of multiple biting attacks in Yonkers and the surrounding jurisdictions, including Hastings-on-Hudson, over the past several days, Yonkers Police said. A Westchester gym teacher has filed a lawsuit after being struck in the head by an errant golf club thrown by a man having a rough day on the links at Dunwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers, according to a New York Post report. Mary Touhey, 55, a gym teacher in Yonkers is reportedly suing 33-year-old Manhattan resident Daniel Schapiro after she allegedly suffered a broken nose last September when the latter threw a golf club in anger following a bad shot.
