Woman Who Caused Double Fatal NY Crash Cited For Careless Driving Days Prior: Records
A 25-year-old woman who authorities say caused a wrong-way crash that left her and another motorist dead had been ticketed for similar offenses just days earlier, records show.
Sydnie M. Haines, of Blackwood, NJ, was heading east in the westbound lanes of Route 17 in Chester, NY, when she crashed head-on into a 2014 Honda Odyssey around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, New York State Police said. Both Haines and the Odyssey’s driver, 54-year-old Mordichy Zafir of Kiamesha Lake, were killed in the collision, authorities said.

SUV Crashes Into Rock Wall, Guide Rail On Saw Mill Parkway In Westchester
A woman was hospitalized after losing control of her vehicle and crashing on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Northern Westchester, authorities said.
The crash happened just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, near Route 120 in Chappaqua, according to Westchester County Police Public Information Officer Kieran O’Leary.
The woman, driving an Acura SUV southbound, lost control, causing the car to slide off the road, strike a rock wall on the right, and then veer back onto the parkway before hitting a guide rail on the left side.

A 43-year-old man from the region was fatally struck after leaving his broken-down car on a busy interstate in Westchester.
The crash occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, in Yonkers, New York State Police announced on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
At the time of the crash, the victim, identified as 43-year-old Ulster County resident Christopher Colom of Tilson, had been operating a 2011 Honda Accord when his vehicle broke down in the left lane of the highway, police said.
