Popular Westchester Musician Robert Lopez Dies Suddenly At 40 A well-known musician from Westchester who grew up on Long Island, Robert  L. Lopez, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 22, at age 40. He was born on Aug. 22, 1979, in Port Jefferson. He was a New Rochelle resident and was "a dedicated and loyal employee for the local Shoprite," the obituary said. Lopez was a passionate Yankees fan and had a love for music. He composed his own lyrics, enjoyed singing his songs and playing his guitar. He performed regularly at clubs in New York City. Friends, Classmates Honor Slain Blind Brook HS Soccer Star Joao Souza Friends and classmates of the former Westchester varsity boys soccer standout and Binghamton University freshman who was fatally stabbed Sunday night have scheduled a gathering in his honor late Wednesday afternoon. The parents of slain Joao Souza, Alexandre and Renata Souza will stop by the school around 5 p.m. to meet with the Blind Brook High School community, the school's superintendent's office told Daily Voice.
