Man Charged With Wife's Murder Hangs Himself A 75-year-old Stamford man charged with the grisly murder of his wife whose body was found covered in blood with her throat slit killed himself last week, according to Stamford Police. Allen Claxton was found late Friday, July 20 hanging in the attic of his home by Stamford Police, said Capt. Richard Conklin. "We've been worried that something like this might happen,"  Conklin said. "We had been talking with him quite a bit."
