Westchester CC Soccer, Volleyball Complete Seasons

VALHALLA, N.Y. – The Westchester Community College men’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams completed their regular seasons last week with the soccer team winning its finale against Region XV Globe Institute 1-0.

The Vikings soccer team then lost 5-1 loss at Ulster in the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region XV Championship Tournament and finished with a 4-4-6 overall record 3-3-5 in the region and 2-0-2 in conference.

Enderson Mhilli (Avondale, Conn.) and Aaron Cueva (Port Chester) were voted First Team All Mid-Hudson Conference and Renato Chira-Farfan (Mahopac) and Henry Rubenstein (Harrison) were voted 2nd Team All Mid-Hudson Conference. Cesar Mazariegos (New Rochelle) was named Honorable Mention All-Region XV and Cueva was named to the All Region XV Sportsmanship Team.

Women’s Volleyball

The Vikings women’s volleyball team concluded their Mid-Hudson Conference season with a 25-17, 25-22, 25-23 win Tuesday at Conference champion Orange and a 21-25, 24-26 and 15-25 loss to Queensborough on Saturday.

The Vikings, who finished with a final Region XV record of 10-6 were named the sixth seed in the NJCAA Region XV Championship tournament and will play No. 3 seed host Queensborough Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Region quarterfinals.
