Manhattanville Field Hockey Falls in Playoffs

MADISON, N.J. – The Manhattanville field hockey season ended Wednesday with the Valiants falling to the FDU-Florham Devils 5-0 in the semifinals of the Freedom Conference Championship at Shields Field in Madison, N.J.

The Valiants struggled to get any offense going and both sides remained locked in a scoreless battle until the 22:17 point of the period when FDU-Florham broke open the scoring to take the 1-0 lead.

Manhattanville Junior Kayla Meenan (Warminster, Pa.) got the first two shots of the game for either side, but was unable to put the ball past Devil keeper Tess Loughran. The Devils outshot the Valiants 15-8, while leading 10-5 in shots on goal.
